Antique Japanese Military Flags Horse Cavalry Army Sake CupThis is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a pair of flags and a horse. The words on the back are "4th Cavalry Regiment" and the soldier's name Hosoda. Condition: Mint Size: 3. 25" across

So this cup dates to that period when Japan set up a puppet state for the territories it controlled in China at the time

and some chrysanthemums

There's a monoplane flying overhead on the right

and two banners

collar tab with the number "29" and the words "Manchuria Garrison Victorious Return Commemoration"

On the back of the bottle is an embossed branch of cherry blossoms and the words "Leaving the service commemoration" "20th Infantry"

The exterior of the cup is in the shape of a helmet with shells as the base and the words "Loyalty" and "Bravery" embossed on it

These are probably meant for helping one's constitution

decorated with a map of Eurasia

The words in black on the back are "Discharge Commemoration" and there's the letters "NY" embossed in the center - probably the maker's mark

The words are "36th Infantry Leaving the service commemoration"

Condition: Excellent - slight wear from use
